- Don’t be short-sighted: Look into the future, set goals that can stand the test of time. Try to find out what technology is likely to be used in the future.
- Do a background check on people who have had similar plans. Where did they fail? What did they do that helped them? These questions will set you on the right path.
Set plans: Anyone who fails to plan has automatically planned to fail. For anyone or an organization that has a future in sight, planning is essential. Planning is designing ways to achieving the set goals. What are the advantages of planning?

What are those things that trigger your weakness? Is it anger? Is it anxiety? Is it wants? Work on these things.
Be confident: The future is not for weak people. Demonstrate confidence and believe in your future. Until you believe in yourself, nobody will. Invest in yourself, build up yourself. People might criticize you at. First, your result will speak for you. Being confident doesn’t mean that you know everything. Upgrade yourself from time to time. Be open to constructive criticism: To grow, you need honest reviews from colleagues and superiors. Don’t be annoyed when you are corrected. Don’t ever ignore your mistakes. Don’t be afraid to fail before people. Once you identify your shortcomings and improve on them, you are ready for the future. Never be ashamed because you don’t know something.
Don’t shy away from Challenges: Challenges are bound to happen. They are part of what makes us develop. “What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.” A little child will attempt to walk for months, but the legs are developing in the process. It’s only weak people that fail to try because of failure. Come out of your comfort zone, try and break new ground. Do not falter when new challenges come. See them as an opportunity to be a better person.
Make judicious use of your time: Time is money. Time is the most accessible commodity to spend, and it is the hardest to gain. Time lost cannot be regained again. Value time; without it, you can’t be successful in the future. We are in a competitive world; time spent wisely is spent well.
Be respectful: “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go farther, go with the right people.” Respect will earn you people – People who are willing to help you. You will need people in the future. You may be good and have all you need, but you will need people at some point. Your attitude to people will be evident in the future.

- People: You need people for the future. You can’t do it alone. It would help if you had connections with the right people. Anyone who has the future in sight will prioritize people. However small a person might look, they can be helpful. Prioritize relationships with the right people.
- Money: You need resources for the future. Wealth to sustain your plans for the future. Without money, plans will be frustrated.
- Good health: Another important thing needed is good health. Health is wealth. It is a healthy person that can plan or execute plans for the future. It would help if you prioritized your health. You can spend money and time meant for the future on your health if you don’t take care of it. Eat good food, rest very well and do a regular check-up.
- A legacy: You need to create a lasting legacy for the future. Steve Jobs died in his 50s, but his legacy lives on. It would help if you had a good legacy that will speak for you when you can’t work again.
